A medieval great hall meets a 1930s Art Deco mansion in one building. The Courtaulds bought the neglected royal palace in 1933 and renovated it into their home, preserving Edward IV's 1470s hall alongside their luxurious interiors. The 19 acres of gardens include a moat.
