Luxury places in Mayfair
18 luxury places in Mayfair, each one on the Guide on merit.

Apricity
Sustainable modern British · European
Chantelle Nicholson cooks low-waste, vegetable-forward food in a stripped-back Mayfair room full of plants and daylight. The plant-based tasting menu runs in full parallel to the main one, not as an afterthought.
Last dinner seating is 20:30 and it is closed Sunday and Monday. Ask for the plant-based menu.

Dover Street Counter
Design-led American diner · North American
A chrome-and-walnut diner that does cheeseburgers and well-priced margaritas in the middle of Mayfair.
Sit at the counter for the open-kitchen view, and note the cocktails are unusually well-priced for the postcode.

Eagle Bar at The Chancery Rosewood
Rooftop bar
Seventh-floor terrace on top of Saarinen's old US Embassy on Grosvenor Square. Brutalist bones, Manhattan posture, and somehow on no rooftop list.

Grays Antiques
Antiques market
The Mayfair answer to Alfies. A warren of dealers in fine jewellery, silver, watches and curios, with a lost river running under the basement. Come to browse and haggle, not always to buy. Closed weekends.
Find the channel of water running through the basement, complete with goldfish and a little bridge. The market says it is the buried River Tyburn; historians are unconvinced, which makes it a better story either way. Weekdays only, so make it a lunch break.

IGNI
Live-fire tasting menu · European
Theo Clench (four Michelin postings) on the old Humo site: refined, seafood-led live fire across three to eight courses. Save it for something you are celebrating.
The set lunch is the cheapest way into Clench's fire cooking.

Kwãnt Mayfair
Cocktail bar
Erik Lorincz left the Savoy to open this low-lit Mayfair basement, and it shows in every drink. Tiki cues, serious technique, no fuss.
Book the corner room for Lorincz's full theatre rather than a perch at the bar.

Marchesi 1824
Pasticceria & tea room · European
A pocket of old Milan in Mayfair, run with the polish you would expect of its owner.
Slip past the counter to the little tea room at the back for the full porcelain-and-pastry sit-down.

Maza
Greek · European
A Greek party with serious cooking under it, and the world's largest Greek wine list.
Ask the staff to steer you through the all-Greek list; the resinous section is where it gets interesting.

MiMi Mei Fair
Chinese · Asian
A glossy Chinese fine-dining room in a Mayfair townhouse done up like 1920s Shanghai, from the group behind Jamavar. Theatrical without tipping into kitsch, and the dim sum earns the setting. The weekday unlimited-dim-sum lunch is the way in.
It is theatrical and pricey; come for the room and the Peking duck, not a quiet bite.

Mount St. Restaurant
British · European
A Mayfair dining room above the Audley pub, hung with 200-odd works by Warhol, Matisse and Freud courtesy of Hauser & Wirth. Reimagined British classics in a room that earns the art.
The lobster pie for two is the order, as lavish as it sounds.

Postcard Teas
Tea room
A tiny Mayfair tea shop sourcing only from farms under 15 acres, with Saturday tastings led by the owner through six rare teas. The thinking person's tea room, miles from any chain.
Ask the staff to talk you through the single-farm teas; the provenance is the whole point.

Stanley's
Rooftop cocktail bar
An intimate, understated rooftop bar above The Chesterfield in Mayfair, with a retractable roof and heated, blanket-draped seats that keep it usable year-round. A discreet alternative to the neighbourhood's statement terraces.
No walk-ins at all, and reservations only open four weeks ahead. Sixty seats, so set a reminder for the date you want.

Sushi Amamoto
Sushi · Asian
One of the world best sushi chefs, now in Mayfair.
The Taipei original ran year-long waitlists, so book the London seats the moment they release.

Tendril
Vegan restaurant · European
Rishim Sachdeva's mostly-vegan Mayfair kitchen, with a Michelin Green Star. Vegetable-led cooking and real technical polish, from massaman pak choi to Chinatown purple potatoes. Nothing worthy about it.
It is small-plates sharing, so order across the menu rather than one dish each.

The Cocochine
European
Chef Larry Jayasekara runs this discreet Mayfair townhouse across three levels, blending French technique with his Sri Lankan heritage and ingredients from the restaurant's own Northamptonshire farm. The signature menu runs to £185, though a three-course lunch costs £39. Upstairs, a chef's table overlooks the open kitchen; downstairs holds just eight tables.

The Dover
Italian restaurant · European
A New York Italian from the former Soho House COO, opened in 2023 on Dover Street. The dining room has Art Deco wood panelling and candlelit tables, with a 1970s disco soundtrack. The menu runs from lobster rolls and mini hot dogs through pasta classics like spaghetti meatballs and penne arrabbiata to Dover sole with chilli and lime.

Tobi Masa
Sushi · Asian
A sushi legend first London counter. The toro is the headline.
Seven seats only, so book well ahead; the counter is the whole experience.

Tosi Gorgonzola
Wine bar
A one-cheese obsession done with a straight face, and it mostly works.
It hides on Bruton Place behind Berkeley Square, so book and look for the old garage frontage.
The whole Guide is in the app, and it is free.
A free, independent guide to London. Nothing here is a paid placement.
