An Oak Tree

Theatre in Victoria

Tim Crouch's experimental two-hander pairs him with a different actor each night who performs unrehearsed, fed lines through headphones and clipboards. Crouch plays a menacing stage hypnotist opposite a guest playing Andy, an audience member with an agenda, in a grief-laden improv that runs around 75 minutes. The 2026 run at The Other Palace features guests including David Tennant, Indira Varma, Sacha Dhawan and Rosalie Craig. For those drawn to conceptual theatre that breaks the fourth wall.

It runs 1 hour 15 minutes. Age recommendation is 12 plus, and it contains strong language and the death of a child.
