Where to eat in Fitzrovia
18 places to eat in Fitzrovia, each one on the Guide on merit.

64 Goodge Street
Bistro · European
A neoclassical French bistro in an old Fitzrovia travel agents, where snails arrive blended into bacon and garlic bon bons.
There is no bar or waiting area, so book ahead, and ask for the window table if you want to people-watch.

Akoko
West African restaurant · African
A Michelin-starred tasting menu that runs West African cooking through French and Spanish technique. Special-occasion food, served without any stiffness.
The short lunch menu is the cheapest way into a Michelin-starred kitchen here.

Attendant Coffee Roasters
Victorian-loo coffee bar
A gentlemen's lavatory from the 1890s, shut for fifty years, now a coffee bar where you drink your flat white at a row of Doulton porcelain urinals. The tiles are original.
It is underground and tiny, so go off-peak to get one of the urinal-counter stools.

Broken Eggs
Spanish tortilla & tapas · European
A Valencian brother and sister who decided Fitzrovia needed a whole restaurant devoted to the humble potato tortilla, and were right.
Go for the tortilla itself before the croquettes distract you, that is the whole point.

Chishuru
West African restaurant · African
London's first Black female Michelin chef cooks West African food that is bold, precise and full of warmth. Small plates made for sharing, in a room that hums.
Book well ahead; the dining room is small and the Michelin star means tables go fast.

Cometa
Mexican seafood · Caribbean & Latin
New-wave Mexican seafood in Carousel's old Charlotte Street wine room: British fish, Mexican flavours, low-key chic.
Build the meal around the raw section first, ceviches and aguachiles, before the sharing plates.

Elsa
Wine bar & bistro · European
Alsatian comfort food and low-intervention wine from a Berlin couple on Charlotte Street. Small and bright, with a Bib Gourmand and none of the noise that usually comes with one.
Order the madeleines when you sit down, they take twenty minutes. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Hinaga
Japanese kakigori · Asian
London's first proper kakigori, shaved cloud-soft to order and kept under a tenner. The queue makes sense.
Watch it built at the counter, and if Charlotte Place is heaving the Selfridges counter is the backup.

Khao-So-I
Thai restaurant · Asian
Northern Thai cooking from a kitchen that started in Chiang Mai. The khao soi is built on house-pressed coconut milk and a blend of 32 spices, and arrives on a tray with everything you need to adjust it. Forty seats around an open kitchen and a grill.
The sai ua sausage is made to a family recipe and is the thing to add to a khao soi set.

Kinkally
Georgian · European
Contemporary Georgian dumplings and small plates in a room with serious drama.
Slip downstairs to Bar Kinky for a nightcap once you have eaten your fill of dumplings.

Koba
Korean BBQ · Asian
A Fitzrovia Korean room that reinvented itself in September 2025, twenty years after it first sold London on the tableside grill. The barbecue now arrives already cooked from the kitchen, and the grills wait downstairs for anyone who wants to do the work themselves.
Book the BBQ selection and go early for the Monday to Wednesday discount.

Lokal
Turkish · Middle Eastern
A warm, unhurried Fitzrovia room from the Fred's Bakery team, cooking modern versions of Turkey's regional dishes.
It is modern Turkish small plates, with a proper cocktail bar doing rakı-based serves.

Luso
Portuguese · European
Leo Carreira's wood-fired Portuguese cooking on Charlotte Street.
Order across the wood-fire dishes; that is where the kitchen shows off.

Mareida
Chilean · Caribbean & Latin
London's first proper Chilean dining room, coastal cooking with real ambition.
Go for dinner Tuesday to Saturday and let the kitchen steer you toward the starters and pudding.

Motorino
European restaurant
British-Italian restaurant in Fitzrovia from Stevie Parle and Luke Aherne, the chef who won Lita a Michelin star in under a year. The 150-cover dining room has a curved, colourful interior and a menu that includes focaccia, grilled sardines, and pappardelle. Drinks come from Kevin Armstrong of Satan's Whiskers.

Noizé
French · European
A warm, low-key French room off Goodge Street from Pied à Terre's former manager. Bottles start at £30 and you can bring your own for £20 corkage, so the wine gets serious without the bill following.
Bring your own bottle. Corkage is a flat 20 pounds and they will look after it properly.

Qima Café
Yemeni specialty coffee · Middle Eastern
Some of the rarest coffee in the world, traced right back to the Yemeni hillside it grew on. A serious cup for people who care where it came from.
Ask for one of the rare Yemenia or Sidra lots rather than a standard flat white if you want the point of the place.

YOPO
Latin American · Caribbean & Latin
Argentine, Chilean and Peruvian small plates in the theatrically bohemian Mandrake hotel, a hidden, sultry room that reads as a proper date. Style and substance both.
Sit in the courtyard if it's warm and order the ceviche and the empanadas.
