Through Our Eyes: Sami Art and Culture

Exhibition in Strand

The first UK group show of Sámi artists brings together 18 or 19 artists across sculpture, installation, photography, video, design and performance in five galleries at Somerset House. The free exhibition spans pioneers including Britta Marakatt-Labba and Nils-Aslak Valkeapää alongside contemporary artists such as Tomas Colbengtson and Marja Helander. A new commission from Outi Pieski, made from hundreds of traditional shawl tassels, is a highlight.
