Georg Baselitz painted his Hero series in 1965 and 1966, when he was 27 years old. This is the first UK exhibition devoted exclusively to these large, battered figures, with loans from Tate, Berlinische Galerie, Museum Frieder Burda and Museum Küppersmühle Duisburg. The show opened months after the artist's death. For those who follow postwar European painting.
